Vintage ads on the side of a building in Salida on the way to Denver.

I really like how most of them turned out, but I can't really decide if it was worth the $20 that they cost (8 for the camera, 12 to develop). So I probably won't get another one since I have a film camera...

HEY GUYZ i know it's been forever and I"m not even going to apologize because I was, you know, spending time with family and shiz like that. Plus I just haven't had anyyyy good ideas for posts lately and yea.

So how was everybody's Thanksgiving breaks? (if you live in the US...) I went to boulder, this hipster college town 6 hours away and went shopping and FINALLY GOT BUBBLE TEA! (I drank it sooo much in Berlin but haven't had it since we moved and I've been having some very serious bubble tea deprivation because they don't have it here. If you don't know what it is, look it up and find a store near you. make sure it's the popping bubble kind and not the black tapioca ones. ewww). I hung out with my friend Julia who lives there and I hadn't seen in two and a half YEARS. So that was nice! What I bought:

  1. High waisted jeans...finally! The last pair I had ripped :(
  2. A pretty quilt that was on sale at Urban Outfitters
  3. Velvet
  4. 2 pairs of velvet pants from a thrift store
  5. a dress from H&M
  6. This knit braided headband thing from H&M
  7. fuzzy over-the-knee socks
  8. vintage scarfs that I wear in my hair allll the time
Annnnnd that's it.

 the jeans and headband...yup.

DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU CAN TAKE PICS THROUGH A KALEIDOSCOPE? yea! My friend and I spent at least and hour in this realllyyy awesome toy store and you know..

I made this skirt on saturday out of some cheap velvet I bought. It was reallyyyy easy! I looked up various tutorials but none of them were perfect for me, so I sorta just winged it...I can do a whole post if anybody wants :) I also made some bows, which are suppperr duper easy.

I also made black, high-waisted velvet shorts from one pair of the pants, and with the other I made leggings. I really like the shorts but the leggings aren't stretchy and therefore aren't very comfy :(

I will hopefully develope some film tomorrow so you can look forward to seeing those photos...if any turn out well!

P.S. You better by nice and comfy and have a lot of time, because you just nneeeeeedddd to listen to this whole thing. Now. and then come over so we can cry together.

P.P.S. Sorry for the weird scattered capitalized-ness of this whole post, I should probably go to bed.

HEYYYY so I'm finally gonna show you guys the day of the dead barbie I made a couple weeks ago! I know Day of the Dead was a while ago now but oh well ok?
Here's some inspiration to start with...

These are how they started off. I used the one on the left, my friend Lily the one on the right. I didn't post any pictures of hers because it isn't done yet.

And then, after lots of painting and letting it dry...

(wow that was a lot of dots to type :P)

Notice my super messy desk

If you haven't noticed, I hung up some christmas lights in my room and just looovee them and the perfect light that they give off <3

We painted them white first (with acrylic paint), let them dry, painted another coat of white, let that dry,  and then I used black acrylic paint to draw the skeleton. I had to look up a picture of a skeleton online and I think that it's pretty accurate! It looks like there are too many ribs but that's how many were on the picture sooo....

I painted the eyes, nose and lip stich things with paint, and then used a black ball point pen to make the designs, which I later filled in with some fine point markers.

 Christmasss lighhhtttsss! <3

And then Frida because I love her and she is into Day of the Dead <3

Let me know what you think! <3

Thrifted sweater, daddy's shirt, black lace skirt from a little boutique in Berlin, Shoes from Shoemint.com, thrifted leather belt

No color...

I'm usually not that self conscious about how i look but this one was realllyyy bad...

notice all the holes in my tights...they never last more than a few days!

 ghost pictures whoopwhoop

Yup. My dad just decided to let me know that he had a tripod down in the basement ALL THIS TIME so I could finally take some outfit pictures. My friend lily and I were actually supposed to go out last weekend and take pictures....but she ended up not being able to which made me mad. Up until this week we had realllyyy amazing weather here, but now it's soooo cold and I have to wear thick tights and scarves and a big wool peacoat over all of my clothes, even this fuzzy wool sweater! I hate it.
Thank god thanksgiving break is next week, I think I would kill somebody otherwise. My family is going up to Boulder, a city with bubble tea and American Apparel and Salvation Army and Savers and Vintage stores and places to go for breakfast. I plan on going to the Modern art museum and seeing my friend Julia who I haven't seen for 2.5 YEARS and shopping a lot while I'm there. Then we are meeting my grandparents and aunt and cousins in Silverton, where I lived when I was super small. Our friend has a house there that we are all going to stay in and eat our vegetarian thanksgiving and play hearts and hide and seek in. It should be fun. Let's hope that I don't get any homework over break....

I wanted to share some pages of my journal from last month. I decided to split it into months because for me, each month usually has a certain theme/feel to it so yea.

My journal/art book. It's 80 years old and from a thrift store.

The first page. It's hard to read my writing on the left but i just think it's sad that the owner got this as a gift and then gave it to the thrift store 26 years later.

 What October's all about.

My fall playlist <3 and a Marc Jacobs ad that I love.

Quote from tumblr, old picture that my dad took, a design that I drew over the period of 6 or so math classes.

Kissing the book with my red lipstick on, a drawing I did of marilyn and just some thoughts.

I have already posted this on here, but a drawing of a friend.

The sky in pictures I've taken in various places that I have been.

Picture of Paris from the arc d' triump that my mom took in '95, lyrics to "Paris" by Lana del Rey.

Picture I found somewhere and liked, and what I live by. Soooo gorgeous. If anybody knows who said it tell me right now.

random little drawing I did in class, black out poem.

So yep. Didn't do very much in it this month, but I like everything that I did. As you can see, lots and lots of black and white and fall and Paris and shit like that.

Going to watch some TV now. Fun fun.
